I just read an article on Mashable that I thought was very relevant. Mistakes happen and social media is no exception. For example, posting to everyone when you thought you were just posting to good friends, posting to the wrong account, etc. There are lots of stories, but below are some examples so you don’t feel alone:
If this happens to you, admit to it. If humor warrants, use humor. In most cases, just acknowledge the gaffe swiftly and don’t panic.
For example, when Chrysler accidentally dropped the F bomb (“I find it ironic that Detroit is known as the #motorcity and yet no one here knows how to f**ing drive”), here is Chrysler’s response, which was a quick apology.
