Before you start driving traffic to your Sales page, review the below list and make sure you’ve covered all of your bases. Compelling headline: Your headline must immediately grab your ideal client’s attention or you will lose them forever. Best Practice Spotlight: Whiskey Militia

I found out about this website through my sons, who are avid snowboarders. My oldest son is hooked on this site and has bought multiple items from them; so I had to see what it was all about. While I was browsing, two best practices hit me on the head. Best Practice Strategy #1: Create Demand through Scarcity Genius here. This online retailer offers ONE product at a time at a huge discount. They release the one product at midnight and sell it til’ it’s sold out. Then, they release their next item until that item’s sold...

Must see: Waiting for Superman

I just saw this movie over the weekend, and it’s a must-see. As a former educator, as a mom, and as a person existing in this society- it really made me think.  It was heartbreaking but inspiring at the same time… Discouraging, because the educational system in this country is not competing with other countries in the way we should and that’s scary for our future. But even more, we are not serving the kids in this country as we should. They are not all receiving the education they are entitled to; and they’re not all...

How to embed Facebook videos onto your website…

If you have or like a video that was uploaded directly to Facebook, use the code below to post on your website. It works for Safari & Firefox. First, click on your video in Facebook to find the video url. Now, copy the video number which appears after the “v” in your url.  Then, insert your video number where I’ve indicated into the code below. Are you a New Dork? I want to be one. {plus great marketing lesson}

One of my clients posted this to her Facebook. I think it’s hilarious and wanted to pass it on. I didn’t post it just cuz it’s funny though. It’s to illustrate genius marketing and the spot on use of YouTube to drive traffic to your website. And get customers. This video has gotten over a million views. They threw the video up on YouTube, posted their website url all over it. And, it worked. I visited their website, saw they have a great product offering and am signing up. This stuff works. ...

How Technology helped raised over $200,000 to fight cancer. In less than an hour.

This summer, I witnessed something extraordinary. I saw over $200,000 raised in about half an hour. Fastest fundraising I’ve ever seen. This was at the Harold Pump Foundation Celebrity Dinner. The Harold Pump Foundation raises money for the awareness and treatment of cancer and has given 4.2 million dollars to the Northridge Hospital alone. Each year, the Foundation honors someone special. This year was insane. The honorees were: Hank Aaron, Denzel Washington, Joseph Brandmeyer and Muhammad Ali. If those names don’t pull a crowd, I...

5 Un-sexy, must have plugins for WordPress…

New plugins are created all of the time for WordPress so it’s important to keep current on the latest ones. I group plugins into two categories: 1. Functional 2. Cool. Group 1 plugins make your site more secure,  easier to manage or more visible. They’re like water- you need them to survive in the WordPress world. The other set of plugins, the Cool ones, are the Bells & Whistles that up-level your site and make it standout. Today, we’ll talk about the Functional plugins. These are not sexy, but you’ve got to have...
